Events for June/July 2010:

Summer solstice, shortest night  June 21st at 4:28 AM Creston Time

Saturday June 12th - New Moon
June 19th - First Quarter Moon
June 26th - Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse visible in the early morning hours of June 26th!  Get up early and see the moon setting in Eclipse over the Selkirks!
July 4th - Last Quarter
July 11th - New Moon Solar eclipse visible in South Pacific.

June 13th - Venus 40 N of Moon
June 20th – Venus 0.40 of Beehive Cluster

Planets:

Mercury – low in the west barely visible near horizon in west
Venus – the really bright star in the West at sunset
Mars – Reddish coloured bright star – Regulus in Leo will stand between Venus and Mars
Saturn – will be near Spica in Virgo.
Jupiter – is a morning planet rising at 1:00 am and only getting high enough to observe around 2 hours later.
